FREDERICK, Md. (July 21, 2025) – Orases, an AI-first custom software development company and five-time Inc. 5000 honoree, celebrated its 25th anniversary last week. The company commemorated the milestone with a special Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at its Frederick headquarters on Thursday, July 17, surrounded by its team, partners, and local leaders.
What began in 2000 as a small team has evolved into the largest family-owned AI software company in Maryland. This journey demonstrates a lasting commitment to job creation and tech sector leadership, blending sophisticated technological solutions with a core belief in community.
“To mark this 25-year milestone surrounded by our dedicated team, valued partners, and leaders from the community was the perfect testament to our journey,” said Nick Damoulakis, CEO of Orases. “It has always been our belief that true success isn’t just about growth or technological innovation, but about building lasting relationships and sharing that success with the community that helped build you.”
The celebration’s centerpiece was a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony that highlighted the company’s strong civic ties. Orases was honored with four separate proclamations for its contributions, presented by Rick Weldon, President and CEO of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce; Jessica Fitzwater, Frederick County Executive; Brad Young, President of the Frederick CountyCouncil; and Ken Kerr, a Maryland State Delegate for District 3.
“Orases has been a driving force in Frederick’s technology sector, creating jobs and attracting talent to our region,” said Rick Weldon. “Their success story demonstrates what’s possible when innovative companies choose to plant their roots in Frederick and grow with our community.”
The company’s commitment to the community is a cornerstone of its identity. As a co-founder of TechFrederick and the driving force behind the TechFrederick Games, Orases has been instrumental in building a vibrant local tech ecosystem.
This leadership extends to developing local talent through a decade of support for Frederick High School’s LYNX (Linking Youth to New Experiences) program, which helps students design their own paths to academic and career success.
Orases also actively engages in the community’s cultural life. The company annually sponsors the local Greek Festival and has been recognized for its contributions by the Frederick Rotary Club. Through regular events like its popular Lunch-and-Learns and AI Steak Nights, Orases continues to foster a spirit of shared knowledge and connection across Maryland.
